How do I get makeup to stay on oily eyelids?

I have very oily eyelids. What's the best way to get my eye makeup to stay on?

A shadow primer is your best bet as they are formulated for just this purpose. As makeup sits on the primer rather than the skin of your eyelids, it lasts longer.

If you don't have any primer on hand, try applying a layer of matte face powder and a very thin layer of cream concealer sealed with another layer of powder onto the lids before applying shadow or liner. This will help keep makeup in place and prevent creasing of colours as the day, or night, goes on.
