The question

I am heading on a ski trip. How can I prevent my face from getting chapped and windburned?

The answer

You'll need a physical barrier to the wind (a bandana or ski mask) in addition to some product – a sunscreen of at least SPF 50 is non-negotiable.

Apply a layer of moisturizer over the sunscreen; I recommend Skinfix Body Repair Balm, an emollient-rich formula that is free of irritants and fragrance.

For après-ski cleansing, avoid heavy, foaming formulas, which can strip skin of naturally occurring oils; opt instead for a non-drying cleanser such as Elizabeth Grant Caviar Nutruriche Gentle Cleansing Milk.

To help repair any damage, apply a hydrating mask; Fresh's Crème Ancienne Ultimate Nourishing Honey Mask is a good one. Honey is a natural humectant that helps skin absorb and retain moisture.

Hitting the slopes should be a fun and painless experience – as long as you remember to protect your skin.
