Bold eyebrows and heavy eyeliner both seem to be popular this season. Do these two looks work together or should I just pick one and go with it?
The answer
There is a maxim when it comes to personal style: Go bold or go home. When it comes to makeup trends, however, this saying does not apply. In other words, it is always best to pick one trend to run with when it comes to your face, as patterns and contrasting colours don't always mix well on a visage. In the case of the combo you cite, your brows are in the same territory your eyeliner happens to be, meaning that whatever you do in that area of the face will be the focus. So if you decide to go with heavier brows, keep the liner to a minimum and let the bold brows be the focus. If you choose, alternatively, to go with a heavy liner look, your brows should just be kept neat and groomed and filled in where sparse, so there's no need to lay on the heavy brow pencils and powders.
