How do I figure out what eyebrow shape is best for my face?

For every six general face shapes out there, there's a corresponding eyebrow shape. Oval faces can get away with varied brow shapes, but sticking with a softly arched brow is the best bet.

Round face shapes benefit from elongation, so going for a slightly higher arch can help lengthen the face. Narrow, longer faces tend to look best with straight, filled-in brows that help to shorten the face length. For a face with stronger angles, such as a strong jaw or wider temple area (also known as square or diamond shaped faces), you can either emphasize those strong features with a sharp arch in the brow or try to minimize angles with a softer brow shape. Keep in mind that these are just guidelines: It's always best to follow the natural shape of your brow as everyone's face structure is unique. If all of this sounds daunting, visit a pro and get your brows shaped by him or her. Then you'll only need to maintain any stray hairs that sprout up.
