The question

I'd like to lend a little edge to my fall beauty look. What is the most office-friendly way to try out the punk looks that I saw on the fall runways?

The answer

To incorporate elements of the punk trend into your daytime makeup routine, you need to consider the level of formality in your office.

If it has a strict corporate-attire policy, add a touch of punk with blue or green nails (seen on the runway of Jeremy Scott). Be sure, however, that the only edgy aspect of your mani is the colour of the polish and that the application is neat and clean. Alternatively, you can take a cue from Versace's kohl-rimmed eyes and try an office-appropriate smokey look.

If, on the other hand, the dress code is semi-casual or casual, you can show a little more edge. Try rocking a deep purple pout like the ones seen at Anthony Vaccarello. (A shade with a slightly blue undertone will make a real statement.)

If you want to play up your eyes, try the Chanel Resort runway look and use a neon-blue eyeliner on your lower lid and water line.
