Rejoice, guys on the grind. The white suit is no longer just for rappers who summer in the Hamptons or fancy yacht enthusiasts. This year, the preferred hot-weather uniform for men of leisure gears up for the office. Here's how to work the blank slate. - Tiyana Grulovic

1. The No. 1 rule of wearing a white suit? It must only emerge in the spring and summer. In any other season, it feels too out of place. There is only one exception to this: You're Tom Wolfe.

2. Keep your touch light with the shirting. Opt for cool cottons or linens in pale shades paired with a like-coloured tie, as at Dolce & Gabbana. Stay away from satin and/or anything printed, bright, striped or black (unless your chosen profession is wedding singer).

3. Much like with the shirting, take it easy in the shoe department. Slip into a pair of suede lace-ups, loafers or brogues in neutral-to-light shades such as tan, beige or grey.
