Forget mink coats: This season, it's bags, shoes and more that are sprouting fur, including options both real and faux. For Chanel's runway presentation, a real iceberg was hauled in as a backdrop for hirsute boots, but we wouldn't recommend such dramatic footwear unless you are actually Arctic-bound. For the office, stick to discreetly fur-trimmed shoes. No, professional and hot to trot aren't mutually exclusive.

1) If you opt for jaunty trim on a shoe, make sure it's a pump or high-heeled lace-up. Go for anything flatter and you'll look you're wearing moccasins.

2) Remember that less is more: One hairy accessory at a time is the most effective way to take the trend into the boardroom - and put a halt to those Chewbacca comparisons.

3) Keep the rest of your look simple with classic items like a well-cut pair of trousers and a sleek silk blouse. Add a fuss-free wool coat in grey or basic black.
