If April showers bring May flowers, expect your wardrobe to blossom this month. Floral prints, always a sure bet for spring, grew even wilder on this season's runways, where designers mixed bold buds from head to toe. With some careful consideration, you can easily transfer such a look desk-side. Here's how.

1. The key to mixing any prints, including florals, is to look for similar colours in each piece. For the office, darker tones such as black, navy or dark blue will ground an outfit and suit a more professional atmosphere.

2. Take a cue from noted petal pusher Mary Katrantzou, who managed to showcase hyper florals in a wearable way for her spring 2012 collection, by pairing small-scale patterns in structured separates.

3. If you're adventurous, add another print to the look with a bold floral bag. Just remember to keep the rest of your accessories to a minimum.
