What woman can wear high-waisted pants? Are they only for waifs or the hideously tall?
The high-waisted jeans pant - currently being revived by the Gap, among others who are selling flared super-high disco jeans like those worn in my junior-high years at the roller-skating rink - is another fashion that's a trend for the sake of it.
It is what you could call idea fashion: The designers think it's time to find something original, so they revive an old style in an effort to seem clever. The point is not sexual attractiveness but a sort of sartorial conversation. It's something like conceptual art: The pleasure is in the thinking, not the seeing. Needless to say, I believe all fashion should maintain some relationship to sexual attraction. So no, neither extreme emaciation nor freakish height can make these pants sexy.
