Ice cream with black pepper and single malt scotch

You have to like Scotch to like this excellent recipe. Use a mellow single malt, not a bold, peaty one. Guests won't know what's in the dish; one person I served it to swore the black flecks were vanilla beans and the sauce was caramel! This is as fast a dessert as you can make.

Servings: 4

2 cups vanilla ice cream About ½ teaspoon freshly ground pepper ¼ cup single malt Scotch

Divide ice cream into four bowls. Grind black pepper over the ice cream, about six grinds per portion. Pour one tablespoon of Scotch over each dish and serve.
