Voted Saskatoon's best cocktail bar in a recent reader survey conducted and published by local magazine Planet S, 6Twelve Lounge is, as bar manager Steve Nydell puts it, "interested in developing a cocktail culture by creating drinks unique to us." Among them is the Orange Blossom Special, made with blood oranges and vodka and named for a Johnny Cash LP.
Ingredients
2 ounces premium citrus vodka
Juice from one blood orange
Juice from ½ lemon
1 drop orange blossom water
1/2 ounce simple syrup
2 dashes Angostura bitters
Splash of soda water
Method
Simply pour all the ingredients save the soda water over ice in a shaker. Shake vigorously and strain into a rocks glass filled with ice. Top with the soda water, garnish with a large orange twist and savour the glow.
