wine review

Alias is a new aromatic white blend from Black Hills, not to be confused with Alibi, the Okanagan winery’s more established Bordeaux-style white based on sauvignon blanc and sémillon. This one’s a mix of riesling, pinot blanc, gewurztraminer, schoenburger, muscat and ehrenfelser. It starts out on the sweeter side of off-dry, then quickly finds its balance, with muscat-like flavour leading the way, joined by apricot, apple and ginger. A good match for cheeses or pan-Asian cuisine. Available direct, blackhillswinery.com.
