wine review

A delectable, succulent Beaucastel, this 2015 smells a little like a cigar dipped in strawberry shortcake. On the palate, it serves up chewy cherry and plum fruit with notes of tobacco, black tea and tingly minerality. Fine, grainy tannins make their way straight to the base of the tongue and bode well for perhaps another 20 years in the cellar. Handsome and poised. Not a hair out of place. Available in Ontario at the price below, various prices in Alberta.
