wine review

Okanagan syrah is on a roll and this latest release from Painted Rock stands as a great example of that grape’s progress. From a glorious vintage, the wine is succulent, velvety and concentrated, with notes of plum sauce, cherry, pepper, leather and cured meat. So ripe, yet so spicy, balanced and fresh. Worth cellaring for up to a decade, but perfect now for such items as roast or grilled lamb or braised red-meat dishes. Available direct, paintedrock.ca.
