wine review

This comes from the Fronton appellation in southwest France, where Toulouse is the big town and the lesser-known négrette grape plays star. Here the medium-bodied red variety makes up 55 per cent of the blend, with support from syrah, cabernet franc and cabernet sauvignon. The wine is medium-full-bodied and very dry and lively, with a chalky grip and pleasant combination of herbal, green-tea flavour and funky, horse-stable character. Available in Ontario.
