Well, here's a monster. At 16-per-cent alcohol, it should taste hotter than it does. But there's ample fruit to keep the ethanol mostly in check. It's also very astringent thanks to formidable tannins, with delectable cherry, currant and mineral characters underpinned by glorious mushroom. Fantastic for braised red meats, such as short ribs. Available in Ontario.
