wine review

Solid and serious Chianti Classico for the money. Medium-bodied, it's very dry and polished, with juicy cherry fruit and an earthy backbeat of tobacco and white pepper. Good tannic backbone. Gabbiano also produces a non-Classico red for a few bucks less that's simply labelled Chianti, so don't get them confused. Available in Ontario at the above price, $19.99 in British Columbia (on sale for $18.49 till March 3), various prices in Alberta, $17.87 in Saskatchewan, $19.99 in Nova Scotia, $21.77 in Newfoundland (on sale for $20.27).
