Classically firm Pommard, this is excellent "village"-class red Burgundy from a monopole vineyard owned outright by the large producer Albert Bichot. Medium-bodied and nuanced with a whiff of struck match, it's tightly structured, with ripe berries wrapped in chalky tannins. It should improve six or eight years in the cellar.
