Wine review: Emeri de Bortoli Pink Moscato, Australia

It's rosy pink, comes in a clear Champagne bottle, costs 15 bucks and is decidedly sweet. Oh, and it hails from Australia. That list is surely enough to turn away 100-per-cent of wine snobs. Fair enough. This liquid's not for them. But it's compelling, a Southern Hemisphere analogue to Italy's esteemed moscato d'Asti, the gently crackling white wine brimming with fresh table-grape flavour and floral aromatics. That profile's here in a pretty package. Simple, medium-sweet and satisfying. Various prices in Alberta, $16 in Manitoba, $14.99 in Nova Scotia, $16.79 in Newfoundland.
