wine review

Italy's workhorse red grape, barbera, can make very good wine. Sadly, few fine examples cross the Atlantic. This is a welcome exception. Medium-bodied, crisp and polished, it offers up liqueur-like berry intensity, soft tannins and suave poise. Versatile at the table, it would make for a fine house wine. Good value. Available in Ontario.
