wine review

Bargain alert. A red from the southern Côtes du Roussillon region, this displays sweet, ripe cherry fruit on a rigid tannic spine. Then it turns impressively dry toward the finish, with nuances of licorice and Mediterranean herbs. Drink it now (with lamb, pork sausages, grilled steak or braised red-meat dishes) or cellar it for up to eight more years. Available in Ontario.
