How is training going? Ms. Lang-Laveau has been doing strength training and hill training and has a distance run planned for this week. Meanwhile, Mr. Laveau is repairing their treadmill so that he can get back running on it.

What's your confidence level like? "Very high," says Ms. Lang-Laveau. "We're pumped and ready to go." Running a 5K race on the weekend was a huge confidence boost for the couple.

What is your biggest hurdle to get over for race day? "For me, it's the temperature change," Ms. Lang-Laveau says. Adjusting to running in the heat is something she will have to do for the 10K run in May. For Mr. Laveau, finding time to train remains his biggest challenge. "My shifts are going to be longer starting in a couple of weeks, so it's going to be a little

Jean Choi

How is training going? "I've sort of scaled back a little bit," Ms. Choi says. After doing an 8K race on the weekend, she's decided to lay off long runs for a few days.

What's your confidence level like? After the race on the weekend, Ms. Choi's confidence is running high. "The race was a confidence-boosting event, but it was also a great motivator to make sure that I get a little bit better," she says.

What is your biggest hurdle to get over for race day? "To do it in the time that I want to do it," she says. Her goal is to complete the 10K in 45 minutes, although she'd be happy with any time less than 47 minutes. Her main challenge will be to get in longer runs between now and May 2.

What's your confidence level like? "I'm fairly confident that I will finish the race and probably run the whole way," she says. But she's not sure if she'll be able to reach her initial goal of finishing in 55 minutes. "I think I should be able to do it in under an hour," she says.

What is your biggest hurdle to get over for race day? "My knee is starting to act up again, so I just have to take good care of it," she says.
