Some Nova Scotia pharmacists say they are running low on the flu vaccine – and they likely won't be restocked until the end of the week.
This is the first year flu shots have been offered at pharmacies in the province.
So far, 60,000 people have taken advantage of the new service – about 40,000 more than the anticipated.
Andrew Buffett, chairman of the Pharmacy Association of Nova Scotia, says many pharmacists will have to start turning people away.
Dr. Frank Atherton, Nova Scotia's deputy chief medical officer of health. says there isn't a shortage of vaccine, just a distribution problem.
About 435,000 doses of flu vaccine have been distributed in Nova Scotia – enough to vaccinate 47 per cent of the population.
