Make your own cranberry sauce, which will keep for at least three weeks, and you'll have a wonderful addition to your party as well as a delicious hostess gift.
This unusual cranberry sauce tastes very cherry-like.
Servings: Makes 1½ cups sauce.
½ cup granulated sugar
1 cup pomegranate juice
3 star anise
2 cups cranberries
Place sugar, pomegranate juice and star anise in pot. Bring to boil and cook for 2 minutes.
Add cranberries, reduce heat to medium-low and cook until cranberries pop, about 10 to 15 minutes. Cool and refrigerate.
