The question

With the weather turning cold, I feel like tweaking my decor a little. Any suggestions to give my living room some fall flavour?

The answer

My first suggestion is get some great fall flowers: burgundy lilies or maybe some large, orange sunflowers. Arrange them in tall vases, ideally adjacent to a mirror for maximum effect: the never-ending fall garden.

Next, for your throws and pillows, get out the cashmere and wool. Club Monaco has a great large, double-ply scarf that you can either fold properly and place on the sofa or wear around your neck in a double tie.

If you have a Hermès wool blanket, get it out, fold it in quarters and drape it on the back of your sofa, making sure the sofa back is in full view.

And be sure to have plenty of good reading material arranged artfully on your coffee table. Steep a fabulous cup of tea, tune into a football game and plan your fall wardrobe.

Cold weather doesn't sound bad after all.
