The question

I moved into a white box of a condo. How do I personalize it without spending a lot of money?

The answer

I personally love the white-box look (I hope you have white floors as well). To keep it simple without breaking the bank, do absolutely nothing and enjoy the view! Simply by moving in, you have personalized the space.

Too minimalist for you? You don't need to spend a lot of money to make your condo feel like you. To tackle the theme literally, sprinkle framed images of yourself around the suite. For art, find black-and-white fashion images (or whatever pictures you like) from the Internet or, better yet, some of your own photography and hang them in matching white frames.

For the floors, dhurrie striped area carpets are inexpensive; get them in a grey-and-white stripe so they add just the right amount of contrast.

Display your favourite things in the living room, whether that's a collection of glassware, silver pieces or even a vintage motorcycle. Think about who you are and how you can display yourself. For me, that would mean beautiful pillows, throws, lighting, flowers, candles and art. I love to be surrounded by the objects I adore. These things speak volumes: You are the company you keep.
