LISTING AGENT Kara Reed, Chestnut Park Real Estate Ltd.

The Action: Thanksgiving and Halloween festivities kept many buyers preoccupied in October, so units such as this two-bedroom corner unit in the popular Candy Factory Lofts lingered on the market.

After nearly two weeks listed at $745,000, the asking price was lowered to $729,000 and the unit eventually sold to the better of two offers.

What They Got: This more than century-old warehouse was converted to house authentic lofts, such as this 1,274-square-foot unit with 12-foot timber post and beam ceilings, hardwood floors and large windows facing north and west.

Between 2007 and 2008, designer Carey Mudford extensively renovated the design and decor, starting with custom Douglas fir cabinetry, stainless steel appliances, imported subway tiles and a concrete-topped island in the kitchen overlooking a dining space and adjacent entertaining area with a gas fireplace.

For privacy, there is a full bathroom and two bedrooms, including a master suite with a walk-in closet.

Monthly fees of $542 pay for 24-hour concierge, a gym, a rooftop deck and guest suites.

The unit has parking, and the building is steps from Trinity Bellwoods Park, as well as restaurants, galleries and boutiques on Queen Street.

The Agent's Take: "It's a corner unit and it's one of the only ones with six huge wraparound windows," says agent Kara Reed.

"It had thousands of upgrades, like custom wall built-ins for a huge library and a great funky kitchen with poured concrete counters, so you could tell there was money put into this over and above some of the other units."

This unit's layout was also highly functional. "They're all a little bit different, but it was clearly a two-bedroom [unit] with two closets … Some of them are one plus a den," Ms. Reed adds.
