IF TODAY IS YOUR BIRTHDAY:

By all means set yourself targets for the next 12 months but don't be too rigid about them. Many things will change unexpectedly and you will need to be flexible in both word and deed. You'll reach your goals, one way or another.

ARIES (March 21 – April 20):

Put whatever is worrying you out of your mind and focus on things that make you smile. Come Monday you will discover that what you have been so anxious about is not in the least bit important. It rarely is.

TAURUS (April 21 – May 21):

You may not know why you distrust someone so much but you certainly know better than to ignore your instincts. What happens over the next 48 hours will most likely show you were right to be suspicious.

GEMINI (May 22 – June 21):

Someone will keep you waiting and your patience will wear thin very quickly but try to smile and pretend you don't mind. Good things are coming your way very soon – don't risk it all by losing your temper.

CANCER (June 22 – July 23):

People like to be appreciated, so let someone know that you cherish their friendship and value their advice. It never hurts to be nice and, in the long-term, a generous attitude is usually a wise investment.

LEO (July 24 – Aug. 23):

Something you see or hear this weekend will get you thinking and make you realize there are so many things out there you have yet to explore. But don't indulge yourself too quickly. Test the water before you dive in.

VIRGO (Aug. 24 – Sept. 23):

Mercury in your opposite sign of Pisces makes it easy for you to pick up on other people's moods, but as Mercury is now turning retrograde can you be sure you know what they are feeling? Don't jump to conclusions.

LIBRA (Sept. 24 – Oct. 23):

You are trying too hard to make sense of something that is likely to remain illogical no matter how much brain power you throw at it. Some things are not supposed to make sense. Let this one remain a mystery.

SCORPIO (Oct. 24 – Nov. 22):

Follow your passions wherever they lead you and, if you get the choice, take a risk rather than play safe. You may well step on someone's toes, maybe more than once, but since when has that worried you?

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 23 – Dec. 21):

Everyone knows how smart you are, so why are you wasting so much time and energy trying to impress them? Just carry on doing what you've been doing and don't worry, or care, what the rest of the world thinks.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22 – Jan. 20):

Mercury begins one of its retrograde phases this weekend, so you must not take anything for granted. Appearances can be deceptive at the best of times and over the next 48 hours could be totally unreliable.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 21 – Feb. 19):

If there is a task you hoped to have completed by now you may have to put it on the back burner for the next few days, maybe even the next few weeks. It will get done eventually, but you are too busy now.

PISCES (Feb. 20 – Mar. 20):

Everything is going well for you now and you only have to put a name to your dream to see it start coming true. However, as Mercury starts its retrograde phase today you must be precise in your aims. Avoid sloppy thinking.
