Halloween comes early this year for some lucky kids counting down the days. The town councillors of Raymond, Alta., have voted to bump Halloween up a day to Saturday, October 30. Apparently, that's been the MO for Sunday Halloweens in the largely Mormon community for 40 years.

Mayor George Bohne says it's not about the clash between Halloween's "pagan" reputation and Christian faith. "It's primarily because we have a large faith-based community where people prefer to keep their Sundays more private, to stay home and have family time," he told the Calgary Sun.

All we know is that enterprising kids from less-religious nearby towns will be begging their folks to take them trick-or-treating both nights.
