Angelina Jolie arrives at the premiere of "Salt" on July 19, 2010 at the Grauman's Chinese Theatre in Hollywood.

We know the story never matches the screaming "Nanny Tells All" tabloid headlines. But media watchers are having great fun picking apart the latest "revelations" about Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's parenting style in the new issue of InTouch magazine.

The most damning suggestion: that son Maddox, 8, is allowed to drive cars and drink. Apparently he was allowed to steer a car - once - on their property. And the former nanny says Angelina allowed him to have a sip of wine she was drinking. Once.

Now, that last tidbit definitely veers into taboo territory: Is it ever okay to let your child sip wine or beer? At what age?

A new book from the American Association for the Advancement of Science urges parents to wait until they're older than 15.

Delaying That First Drink: A Parents' Guide discusses research on the impact of alcohol on the growing body and offers tips on how to talk to kids about drinking, according to a press release issued last month.

"Studies show that adolescents who start drinking before age 15 are five times more likely to have alcohol-related problems later in life," the book says. "So, convincing your kids to delay that first drink can make a big difference to the rest of their lives."
