Anyone who's registered with a dating site can tell you how often those matches who seem so promising online end up being duds IRL (in real life).
The folks behind HowAboutWe, a newly-launched dating service profiled by Mashable have designed a solution to that problem: forget about those vanity profile pictures shot in front of the mirror or those contrived lists of favourite activities, users choose their matches based on the dates they propose.
The site is of the same vein as Alikewise, where you can look for matches based on book tastes.
