You've heard of the paleo diet, the Zone diet and the Dukan diet. Now, brace yourself for the next diet fad: the "Five Hands" diet.
Style maven Victoria Beckham is rumoured to have adopted the strict diet to help her lose the weight she gained during her recent pregnancy. According to the Daily Mail, the regimen consists of limiting one's food intake to five palm-sized portions per day.
"Victoria wants to be in the best shape she can in time for New York Fashion Week," an unnamed source told fashion magazine Grazia, the Daily Mail said.
"Five days after giving birth, she started eating five high-protein meals a day accompanied by green vegetables, drinking gallons of water, and only snacking on goji berries and nuts."
Ms. Beckham, 37, who gave birth to daughter Harper Seven last month, gained about 21 pounds during her pregnancy, and is aiming to return to her former physique by Fashion Week, from Sept. 8 to 15, the newspaper reports. The fashion designer and former Spice Girl is reportedly also doing Pilates exercises, which the Daily Mail says helped her slim down after giving birth to her three sons Brooklyn, 12, Romeo, 8 and Cruz, 6.
Talk about pressure. As we've seen from the likes of Angelina Jolie, Jessica Alba, and Victoria's Secret model Miranda Kerr (who, incidentally, has returned to work just eight months after giving birth, according to The Washington Post), celebrity mothers don't lose any time whittling down to their slender pre-pregnancy shapes.
Even though experts caution against post-baby crash-dieting, it's tough not to feel just the slightest bit envious when you see stars looking super-svelte only weeks or months after giving birth.
