Now that everyone from preteens to grandmas are going bald with Brazilian waxes, a new look for the nether regions is rearing its head.

Next up, according to TMZ, is the Foxy Bikini, "in which the bikini line is waxed bare and replaced with a pubic wig made from real fox fur."

Introduced by Real Housewives of New York's Cindy Barshop at her Completely Bare body waxing salon, the Foxy isn't left to resemble an actual animal pelt, of course. Instead, it's pasted on in DayGlo colours including hot pink.

Gawker writer Maureen O'Connor dubbed the look the "furkin."

But Ms. Barshop, in her quest for the ultimate groin adornment, hasn't stopped there. Also available at her salon is the Carnivale Bikini, in which the bare mons pubis is coyly concealed by a fan of exotic-looking feathers. The Carnivale costs $195, while Foxy rings in at $225.

PETA supporters are bound to get excited.

As a reader going by the handle "ur kidding me" asked on TMZ, "are the feathers cruelty free? how did the birds die... hope not only for their feathers..."

Another TMZ reader called the Carnivale "lame" because "you can buy those feathers at any craft store for a couple bucks."

Genital trends come and go, of course. Swarovski bikini crystals went out with the word "bling," while dyed muffs, due to technical difficulties, never really took off.

But as P.T. Barnum might say, there's a sucker – or wannabe exotic film star – born every minute.

Would you go for a Foxy Bikini? How about other nether-region enhancements?
