Go traditional with your pumpkin pie - or get creative.

Thanksgiving dinner isn't quite complete without a sweet, pumpkin pie ending. But that doesn't mean you have to stick with the tried-and-true version of the dessert, especially when there are countless variations to choose from.

Take pumpkin-pie cupcakes, like this one topped with caramel frosting from the blog Smells Like Home. Or you might try baking pumpkin pie inside a cream-cheese vanilla cupcake, as shown on the blog Bake It In a Cake.

The Fatfree Vegan Recipes website offers instructions on how to make raw vegan pumpkin pie, served chilled and set inside the fridge or freezer instead of baked. And from the Cook It Allergy Free site comes a recipe for gluten-free and dairy-free pumpkin pie waffles.

Or you could just cut straight to the custard filling with pumpkin-pie pudding, as posted seen on the blog A Southern Fairytale, or pumpkin-pie crème brûlée, such as this one from Good Housekeeping.

Are you a traditionalist when it comes to Thanksgiving dessert? Or do you prefer mixing it up? What are you planning to serve for dessert this holiday?
