When you're a kid, snow days are fantastic – but there's a way of making them even better.

How, you might ask. How can you take something as seemingly perfect as getting to stay home from school because of the weather and improve it?

It sounds next to impossible, but the head of a private school in North Carolina and a colleague have cracked the code. It involves Vanilla Ice's most famous song, ski goggles and some wonderfully shameless bad rapping.

Michael Ulku-Steiner, head of school at Durham Academy, and his assistant Lee Hark announced that with winter storm Pax hitting the east coast hard, the school would be closed Thursday in a rap videotaped and posted on Youtube.

As the music of Ice Ice Baby starts to play, the head of school puts on ski goggles while his assistant drapes himself in a Team USA cardigan. Then the rapping begins.

Sample lyrics: "All right stop, collaborate and listen. Ice is back and the roads will glisten."

Also: "Slippy roads might be, so stay in your house and drink hot tea."

The video is making the rounds on Gawker and Metafilter, among other sites. Because it's awesome.
