With the Canadian dollar showing strength against the euro, Globus's tour of Northern Italy and the Cinque Terre coast becomes more reasonable - especially as it is priced some 18 per cent less than comparable tours this past summer. The 10-day escorted tour takes travellers from Milan to the Mediterranean Sea, with stops at Parma - famous for both its cheese and its ham - and Asti, known for its spumante wine. Other food-themed events include a balsamic vinegar tasting and a visit to a rice factory in Vercelli. The trip includes centrally located hotels, full breakfasts, three dinners and will operate from April to October next year from $1,909 not including airfare.
