Get a custom fit at Den.m bar in Los Angeles.

The latest openings and events from around the world.

Los Angeles - If you're scouring the city for the perfect pair of jeans, stop by Den.m Bar. Set in a tiny storefront in downtown L.A., far from the posh boutiques of Rodeo Drive and Melrose Avenue, the custom denim workshop sizes customers up (be prepared for a very thorough fitting) before piecing together bespoke blues from a selection of styles, fabrics and trimmings. Choose skinny, straight or slim legs, the type of denim (there are a number of Japanese and American-made fabrics) and finer details such as thread colour, buttons and pocket linings. Expert seamstresses get busy with your order, and within seven to 10 days your tailor-made trousers, which start at about $229 (U.S.), are ready for pickup. denmbar.com

A SPARKLING TITANIC TRIBUTE

Belfast - Set on the dockyards where the RMS Titanic was built, Titanic Belfast is a modern-day tribute to the world's most iconic cruise ship. Built to look like the fabled ship's prow (or maybe the iceberg), the structure sparkles with more than 3,000 silver anodized aluminum shards on its angular façade, complemented by reflective shimmering pools of water at its base and a 15-ton steel sign at its entrance. An impressive outdoor map follows the Titanic's ill-fated transatlantic route and a series of high-tech interactive galleries trace its history. If you're in the area this weekend, stop by to partake in special events to honour the 100th anniversary of the ship's sinking. titanicbelfast.com
