Hotel Kakslauttanen in northern Finland is promoting spectacular views of the Northern Lights from its village of 20 private thermal-glass igloos. The hotel is located near Urho Kekkonen National Park, an area with few trees and zero light pollution. Thermal walls and ceilings keep the interiors cozy and warm. If you plan to drive in France starting this July, make sure your vehicle carries a portable breathalyzer. Under a new law, the fine for not having one is €11 (about $14.50), although police will allow a period of grace until November. A test kit, which costs less than $3, shows motorists whether they are under the permitted blood-alcohol concentration of 0.05. The fine for those between 0.05 and 0.08 is €135 ($180). Those over 0.08 face fines of €4,500 ($6,000) and a two-year prison sentence.
