In the park
It took more than 100 engineers and more than 30-million Lego blocks to create the famous Asian landmarks on display at the recently opened Legoland theme park in Malaysia. Notable sites recreated in the Miniland section include Angkor Wat, the Taj Mahal and the Great Wall of China. Asia's first Legoland is located in Johor Baru, just across the border from Singapore. Also featured are rides, shows and attractions.

Be prepared for nightmares if you book a Scareroom at England's Alton Towers theme park this Halloween season. Overnight guests in the "haunted" Altonville Motel are promised an "extreme theatrical experience" that includes spooky live performers barging into their rooms until 2 a.m. Terrifying outdoor activities are also part of the package. Children under 14 are discouraged from participating and anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. The park is located in Alton, Staffordshire.
In the mood
Love motels, where rooms are rented by the hour, have long been popular with couples in Brazil. Now a canine version has opened in Belo Horizonte. Called Animalle Mundo Pet, the eight-storey building has an entire floor designed for doggie romance. Rooms, priced at about $50, feature dimmed lighting, a heart-shaped mirror on the ceiling and red cushions on the floor. The hotel also offers a gym and a venue for dog birthdays. Luxury items on sale include $1,000 Swarovski crystal dog collars.
