The Travel HoodiePillow

The Travel HoodiePillow lets you stay incognito in flight, while keeping your neck and head well supported.

How it works

With the look of a hooded sweatshirt and the functionality of an inflatable neck pillow, it's a decidedly unusual airline accessory. I keep it under wraps until well settled in my seat, then with a few puffs, blow it up and drape it around my neck. When the hood is up and over my eyes, and the drawstrings tightened, I've successfully blocked out excess light and my noisy neighbour.

Pros and cons

Expect to get curious looks from passengers and flight attendants. The hood is more comfortable than (and equally effective as) an eye mask, and germaphobes will appreciate the extra layer between them and the headrest. It keeps me warm on a chilly flight, but if you get claustrophobic, you'll want to loosen the drawstrings.

Final verdict

A cozy way to get some shut-eye on overnight flights. And because it's handwashable, the fleecy cover stays fresh after multiple uses.
