The savings: 30 per cent plus a $300 credit.

Why it's worth it: Both Air Canada and WestJet have non-stop flights from Toronto and accommodation at The Somerset on Grace Bay ranges from one-bedroom villas to a five-bedroom penthouse. SLEEP OFF NUIT BLANCHE

The buy: Two-night packages are available at 15 Toronto hotels in conjunction with Scotiabank Nuit Blanche on Oct. 5.

The savings: Packages start at $139 a night and include 20 per cent off each admission to the Ai Weiwei: According to What? exhibition at the Art Gallery of Ontario and 10 per cent off VIA Rail's best available fare.

The catch: Packages are available only that weekend.

FREE SPENDING MONEY

The buy: The Barbados Tourism Authority has an Island Inclusive promotion offering free spending money to visitors.

The savings: $150 (U.S.) a person for a five-night stay and $200 a person for a seven-night stay.

The catch: You have to book by Sept. 21 for travel by Dec. 21.

Why it's worth it: The money can be spent at a wide variety of hotels, restaurants and attractions across the island ranging from submarine rides to golf courses and from Oistins' Fish Fry and close to 20 other eating establishments to some four-dozen hotels and resorts.

UP TO 50,000 BONUS MILES

The buy: American Express is giving bonus Aeroplan miles to those who sign up for its AeroplanPlus platinum and gold cards.

The savings: 50,000 miles on the platinum card and 20,000 miles on the gold card.

The catch: You have to apply by Sept. 2 and there is an annual fee of $499 and $120, respectively.

Why it's worth it: 50,000 miles is enough for two return flights to almost anywhere in North America and platinum card holders also get to check in at Executive First counters, have access to priority security screening and can use Maple Leaf and other lounges at a range of airports whenever you fly.
