SKYLINE SAKE, SIBERIAN SUNRISE

New York - Kick off New York's rooftop bar season with a sake-infused aperitif overlooking Central Park. Signature cocktails with such fanciful names as Hummingbird and Siberian Sunrise are poured by the mixologists of Blue Ribbon Sushi Bar & Grill. LEARN SCARLETT O'HARA'S SKILLS

Charleston, S.C. - Southern hospitality at The Charleston Place Hotel now includes a lesson on how to mind your P's and Q's. The Beau & Belle program adds an element of refinement to an otherwise typical five-star hotel package. Guests are given an intensive tutorial by Cindy Grosso, founder of the Charleston School of Protocol and Etiquette. She then sends them off to the hotel's Thoroughbred Club for tea. Luckily, this isn't a test and nobody will judge how you sip your Earl Grey. charlestonplace.com

BRITISH BASICS AT THE GILBERT SCOTT

London - The Gilbert Scott, a grand brasserie in the restored St. Pancras Renaissance hotel, is proving that London's restaurant scene is heading back to British basics. Marcus Wareing is in charge of a hearty lineup of dishes not typically associated with fine dining. On offer are Yorkshire fish cakes, nettle and watercress soup, and baked onions. Mrs. Peckham's Lobster of Leeds is inspired by a 19recipe in Florence White's 1932 book Good Things in England. thegilbertscott.co.uk
