It was sealed with a kiss, an awkward kiss posted all over YouTube for millions of cooing women.

Celebrating Spain's World Cup victory on Sunday, goalkeeper Iker Casillas decided to make out with his sportscaster girlfriend Sara Carbonero - on air as she interviewed him after the game.

The weepy soccer star choked up as he thanked his parents and brother. When Ms. Carbonero dutifully tried to change the subject to the match, Mr. Casillas wagged his finger at her, thanked her, then pulled her in around the neck and planted two big ones on her.

Clearly embarrassed, Ms. Carbonero smiled and wriggled away: "Oh my god," she said. The sportscast cut back to her colleagues, who smirked broadly.

The clip has since been viewed hundreds of thousands of times on YouTube; reaction has consisted mostly of "Awwwwww," "So cute" and smiling emoticons. "I am legit crying right now. i want this man so bad. SO BAD," one commenter wrote. Another: "She was trying to be professional but he couldn't help it."

Ms. Carbonero may be cringing, especially since fans complained that the green-eyed beauty distracted Mr. Casillas when she lingered near his net as Switzerland scored during Spain's first-round upset. ("How did you muck that up?" she asked her squirming boyfriend after that game.)

Still, Ms. Carbonero wasn't the first girlfriend to be ambushed on the air: Last December, meteorologist Kim Perez was describing South Florida's rainfall on the U.S. Weather Channel when her boyfriend walked into the shot and proposed. As he got down on one knee, the words "Will you marry me?" appeared in a fluffy heart that faded in over her weather map.

Thankfully, she said yes.
