Mike Hillis of Port Williams, N.S. took this photo of freshly cut hay in a nearby farmer’s field for the reader assignment on perspective. Using a wide aperture to create a shallow depth of field, the backlit grass at the edge of a field creates a strong focal point and the softened rows of freshly cut hay add further depth.
