B.C. premier-designate Christy Clark has found a new head of the B.C. Public Service.
Ms. Clark said, in a statement Friday, she wants to name John Dyble, the current deputy minister of health services, to the position.
Mr. Dyble, a member of the B.C. Public Service since 1989, would take on the job with the swearing in of the new government, expected in mid-March.
His official titles would be deputy minister to the premier, cabinet secretary and head of the BC Public Service.
Mr. Dyble is to replace Allan Seckel, who took on his responsibilities in 2009.
"I would like to thank Allan Seckel for bringing his extensive experience to government in 2003, and for making a major contribution to public service over the past eight years," Ms. Clark said in her statement.
The former deputy-premier and education minister was elected leader of the BC Liberals in a leadership vote Feb. 26, marking her return to politics after a six-year absence that included a long stint as a radio talk show host.
