St. Paul's is the only hospital in the Lower Mainland without a family practice maternity clinic. A clinic expected to open this year has been put on hold. Below, we mapped how busy St. Paul's was relative to other area facilities between April 2011 and March 2012, when 42,706 babies were born in all of the province's hospitals. (By comparison, there were 1,060 home births attended by a B.C. registered midwife.)
