Police say ten people with ties to the Justice Institute of B.C. have been the victims of criminal activity that includes arson and gunfire.

Chief Superintendent Janice Armstrong says this past July an astute investigator recognized a link between "seemingly unconnected" crimes that were occurring throughout Metro Vancouver.

She says some of the victims homes were shot at, or they reported arsons on their homes or vehicles.

Chief Supt. Armstrong says three of the victims are employees of the post-secondary institution, two are past students and the rest are "loosely linked" to the institution.

None of the incidents have occurred at the institution's campus in New Westminster or its other facilities.

Chief Supt. Armstrong says a dedicated team of RCMP and municipal police are working on the case and do not believe anyone else is at risk at this point.
