Man in Commercial Drive street fight dies of injuries

Vancouver Police have identified the victim of a fatal fight that occurred Saturday morning in East Vancouver.

Michael Charles Gregory died of injuries suffered in the mid-morning brawl on busy Commercial Drive.

The 59-year-old victim was rushed to hospital but could not be revived.

A 27-year-old man was taken into custody a few hours after the fight, although charges were not laid and he has been released.

Officers say the investigation remains very active and a suspect has been identified.

The case is Vancouver's second homicide of 2013.
