The Occupy Vancouver movement has barged its way into the city's mayoral election campaign.

Demonstrators from the Occupy camp disrupted a downtown Vancouver debate last night between Mayor Gregor Robertson and his main challenger, Suzanne Anton.

The protest movement is also separating the two candidates – with Mr. Robertson saying the city is searching for a way to peacefully end the camp, while Ms. Anton says it should never have been allowed to spring up.

She says if she is elected mayor on November 19th, she will impose a seven day deadline to oust any campers still outside the Vancouver Art Gallery – although she hasn't said what she would do if they refuse to go.
