No further official searches are planned in Nevada for missing Penticton, B.C., resident Albert Chretien.

Lt. Marvin Morton of the Elko County Sheriff's Office says the most recent search for the 59-year-old wrapped up last weekend.

He says finding Mr. Chretien's remains may now be left to chance, noting it would be difficult to return to the backwoods of the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest unless some solid evidence is found.

Bleached bones located recently by a Nevada resident have now been confirmed to be from a coyote.

Mr. Chretien vanished in March when he and his 56-year-old wife, Rita, became stranded after their van bogged down in mud on a remote logging road as the couple drove to a trade show in Las Vegas.

Rita remained with the van and was found weeks later, barely alive, but Mr. Chretien set out to get help three days after they became stuck, and has not been seen since.
